Virginia United Football Club (VUFC) is the most popular community football club in the northern suburbs of Durban and has a long and proud tradition that has carried through generations of members. VUFC welcomes both boys and girls from under 6 age group right through to the open age group.
Virginia United Football Club was founded in November 1968 by a group of Durban North parents. Mr. & Mrs. Barber, Mr. & Mrs. Fitzel, Mr. & Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Morasutti, Mr. Bowman, Mr. Molholland and Peggy started with 5 teams, 2 x U10, 2 x U12 and 1 x U14 playing games on a park in Glenashley neighbouring Mrs. Morasutti's residence.
Through the persistence of Paula Barber and the help of the then Mayor and Trevor Warman, the club moved to Danville Park, increasing in size throughout the seventies, eighties and until the early nineties when Virginia United Football Club was recognized as the largest amateur club in the Southern hemisphere.
